Murder

She lay there In a pool of blood, Eyes vacant, Tongue protruding Dead. Her body lay At a awkward angle Crumpled In the dirt. Life for her angel Was shattered Like a mirror now Unimaginable fear. Her killer stood Over her calmly Nudging her with his foot Valueless The calf shivered Horror engulfed him As his mother was taken And he stood alone No mercy.

wow, I came back to your FIRST post and found this amazing poem. Looks like I still have some oldies of yours to discover. This one had an unexpected ending with the animal being a cow. HOW unique!!

You make "slaughter" synonymous with "murder" in this write. I don't believe there is really a difference.

Thank you for your comments. From the calf's point of view his mother has been murdered. Cows are beautiful and I have tried to give dumb animals a voice. Best wishes Linda x

WOW! this is a poem that is sooo very involved from the 3rd person and the killer kept me in it to the end , saw myself nudging the body WOW
