Mucking Musing
Peace and contentment within
The confines of a horse’s stall
Picking and sifting until I have
Cleaned limed and bedded it all
Horse anticipates where
I am wanting him to be
Moving and shifting to
Stay out of the way of me
A soft nuzzling nudging
I feel pushed in my ribs
He’s wanting a pet from me
Which of course I will give
I do my best thinking
Inside that horse box
Collecting and arranging
So many of my thoughts
Measuring the grain and
Dumping it into the feeder
Shaking out the hay sheaves
The smell couldn't be sweeter
To me they aren't chores
They are my times away
To sort my thoughts to
Begin and end my day
