Mrs Flowers-F

It was as though she had an indebtedness to give homage to the name she wore. There are some things that we learn to love, and others that we are born to love, because doing so was already written and sealed into our DNA. Although not her maiden name, Angelica married Paul Flowers and proudly wore his last name. It appears that her DNA was possessed with the need for flowers, and I as a young teen was mandated to assist her in caring for them. I cannot say that I learned anything of consequence about flowers, but a most lasting beneficence was what I learned from Mrs. Flowers. Lover of flowers; lover of 'the work ethic'; lover of mastering one's craft. Such are the qualities I took away from the rose gardens, flower patches, and the endless piles of leaves from the pecan trees of Mrs. Flowers. I often humor my wife with a line that Mrs. Flowers so often used in conversing with me. I say to my bride that sometimes she reminds me of Mrs. Flowers when she often said to me, "When you finish that, do this''. And as I look back, I feel that such words to me from Mrs. Flowers must have been her favorite. 112621PS
