Mr Archie Bunker

Mr. Archie Bunker
For the good ole days did hunker

   Confronted with 'ethnics' or punkers
He turned green at the gills...went bonkers

That show sets the humor bar so high that all other shows are relatively boring.

The writers and actors — genius! I’d want to contact Norman Lear and thank him for the fun, but I think that’s impossible

I'm with you, Hannah! What a show!!... Although I know those who were at the opposite end of the opinion spectrum; I think they took TV shows way too seriously. Either that, or they had lost their sense of humor somewhere along life's journey... Thanks! Cheers, Gershon

And he lovingly told Edith to stifle, those were the days. Nicely written, Gershon. All the best. John

Yeah. What a show that was... They would have had to censor a lot of it today, I guess. Thanks, John

a humor that exposed the inanity of so much of the behavior of the times

Love your label, inanity, for those not-so-great 'old days.' Thanks, John. ~ Gershon

I love the fact that he was in no way a bigot in real life, only for the show.

I think that Archie was actually more liberal than 'Meathead!' I preferred his TV version to his real-life 'do-gooder persona. Oh, well. Just my taste. ~ gw
