Moving On

When I finally said those words
“For you I no longer feel”
A part of me began to heal
All the signs that I surpassed
Make me feel so blind
But I’ve looked away from all those thoughts
And left past feelings behind
Though all the times I said I was through
Then later went back to feeling for you
Are gone
It’s time to move on
I told myself you’d soon come around
But expected what I later found
My friend, to me you will always be
But nothing more will be achieved
In my eyes you were the best
But now I see you’re just like the rest
So on this day, hour, minute
It finally occurred to me
You weren’t worth the time and aggravation
So now I forget you
And get back to me
