Moving On

Chances were given
more than you care to remember
 My heart is broken
torn to pieces
 All things that are done
only benefit you
In this world, I exist too
somehow this fact slips beyond reason
 My opinion means nothing
for you direct my moves
Getting off one to go to another
but you expect more
When truth is placed before you
you are prepared to toss me aside
It's hard to imagine love like this
the chains placed upon me are weighted
My dreams of forever is lost
now they are living nightmares
If holding on to yesterday is all left
I fear tomorrow
 The pain that hurts most
is the one inside
You fail to know my pain
because the life you're destroying is mine
Every time escape comes my way
you lure me back
You see me hang my head
and you smile
Love was never defined this way
now I dream of freedom
 No longer your slave
these chains are broken
 All your desires
get them yourself
 If this is love
I'd rather be alone
All that was held dear is gone
it's time to move on
No longer will you stand in my way
freedom is mine
The sun has shed light upon the truth
you are happy with you
 My struggles started with you
with you they will end
