Mourning Star
Shivering in Winter sun
another day is yet begun
The frequency of years
indecency of tuned in tears
The ever pounding ever hounding
Surf of desperation hurling back the fears
Squinted eyes ‘gainst sun and wind
gone to face another day
With some faint hope to light the way
and justify existence
Reality is hard to face as
yet it spins in frantic pace
To hold on tight to trees and space
And wonder at a human race that’s losing touch
and losing face in miscreating procreating senseless
supplication
To heedless gods at useless odds in absent contemplation
Is all eternity a joke
A trick with mirrors words and smoke
A blast in time for grander folk than we
Who fear to see?
Looking at eternity like hungry mice at holy cheese
Across a cat filled room
