Mother...You'Re the Best
Many years of trial and error wandering through life’s tests.
Fond memories of a strength to match no other.
Shoulders broad, a leaning post, encouragement at it’s best,
The tears, soft words...the wisdom of my mother.
The swing, on her patio, slowly back and forth,
Sharing secrets, telling jokes with laughter
The great scales of life, can measure not it’s worth
These pictures of a past, most....well sought after.
Kids at play and oft’ the feast, I love to cook...her clean
Songs, with all in joyful harmony
And long into the night to stay, but now too short it seems,
As past, along with present beckons me.
This gentle heart, so full of life, we ever should have known,
That God would choose to draw her to His breast.
A choice well made, if we believe, never to say ‘Gone’
But understood, ‘cause Mother...You’re the best!
