This particular poem has a strange quality attached to it. I understand it is free verse of course but there is something else: something elusive and almost indefinable. I think it is a rare example, and without the writer being aware at the time of writing, that although they are writing in free verse they are in fact also bordering on the very edge of almost creating a ryming sound within the poem; on the odd occasion I too have done this myself...it makes for lovely sounding poetry. :) john
