Mother Nature Sings To Me
When bold colored memories languish,
sepia vision distorts my sorrows
and the scars branded across my heart
are blurred by the moon and stars
and in those wistful intervals,
I find myself searching,
lost in a daydream
heart engaged in sweet release
indulgent moments
Moments when I find comfort in the arms
of Mother Nature as she cradles me to her breast
and sings softly in her sweet dulcet voice ~
"Gently now, gently, I'll hold you in my arms
Close your weary eyes, my sweet little dove.
Gently now, gently, you'll be safe from harms
What you need more than anything is love.
Gently now, gently, I'll rock you 'til you sleep
Gently now, gently, I'll dry the tears you weep."
My sorrow is eased when I hear
her soft whispers in the wind
Her soothing voice is a lullaby,
calming me like a
warm breath of summer
golden blossoms take to wing
fireflies flit in fields
All these simple, yet wonderful things
make me grateful for each indulgent moment
that life allows me to languish in my memories
