Lovely work ! Your mom is beautiful! I love your art it makes me smile! Thanks for sharing. My friend who is a female Buddhist monk would love the Buddha heads I bet! Her birthday is tomorrow. I wish I could have hired you to create a nice Buddha themed painting for her! But there’s always next year or even presenting it later as a belated birthday gift. As for the colors in the first one I love vibrant lively colors! I’ll never tire of your art! Hugs and blessings. Maybe one day I’ll hire you.

Anaya, this is beautifully done. Really wonderful. We owe a lot to our parents and especially our mom. Is that an actual picture of yours? Smiles!

Yes! I was a preteen and i took the picture of Her, she made me, haha! It was Christmas and she wanted pictures in costume, i left her hands out, she was holding castanets! It's in color of course, red and white polka dots, but I posted it in black and white because her hair is dyed an bright auburn red and it clashes with the costume. (laughing). You gave me an idea ~ TY, DB

It is very wonderful; I hope you presented it to your mom, dear Anaya. With its soothing imagery of nurturing hands and a protective spirit, your haiku soothes the spirit.

Dearest Anaya, your poem is a lullaby for the soul-those “gentle hands” and guardian heart, how your love quietly lights the dark. I sense your gratitude, the warmth of being cradled in a bond that’s both fierce and soft. Such honest tenderness, Anaya, your words are a gentle place to rest, and I’m grateful for you, always. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

My mother and I had peace talks through our letters (she didn't text years ago) which began as just how are you's, led me to strengthen my writing, forming poems which rhymed she loved. Eventually asking for forgiveness for silly rebelling-- and a stubborn youth, healing over some of the ruff spots. It must be why i'm a happier daughter and because of her, i write poetry. I encourage anyone who hasn't spoken with a family member to do so, follow the steps of AA it's one method, whether alcoholic, addict or not. Ty Daniel, your reviews, compliments and as a friend most important to me, and your therapeutic insights! Love & peace be with you ~

This is so beautiful, I hope you gifted it to your mother?? I wonder if Mothers of poets ever tire of our poetic gift-tributes. I've written so many for my Moma (how I spell it) in my life. I noticed a lot of poets are doing the spacey letter thing. I've also noticed I am confused because I was recently told by a poet I trust that Haikus are meant to be about nature only. I have tarried here overly long and written too much ... CayCay

ten years we wrote , mailed our daily 'things to do' mine turned into a sort of AA 12 step, as she was getting older, i told her how much i appreciated her and love her, and eventually asked her to forgive me for the things i did that i could remember, it became poetic especially on holidays. The letters ended just last year but i kept every letter she sent me.

Did that, CC texted it! ha. Oh, we are a crew of dancers, folklore she was a (flamenco, Mexican dance etc. instructor) professional beautician, she worked for "The Hair Pin" her contributions later; she retired from Admissions and Records @ the CSUN University--and she deserves to be honored absolutely! In my case, i just began poetry writing a couple years ago, its an overwhelming experience for my mother, she can't get enough. This is true, Nature is the most famous Haiku subject, including depictions of plants, animals, and the changing of the seasons. But this little trending illusku, is for fun and not in a contest so it's fun! No, no I enjoyed your company today ~ Xhugs
