Written: June 12, 2024, For Constance la France Contest Quote "Dum loquimur, fugerit invida Aetas: carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero. Translation" While we're talking, envious time is fleeing: pluck the day, put no trust in the future."-Roman Poet Horace.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We are fortunate to have the gift of time, You can't foresee what may occur tomorrow. So, each day, we should have a solemn rhyme, Living daily to avert a slippery path is hollow. Don't wait and worry over every strife, Leverage any opportunity to bear action. Each of us must step out and discover life, To fulfill our desires and reach satisfaction. When you reckon wisely, goodness will arise, Negative ideas tend to exacerbate woe. Face odds that lie ahead with comprise, Rather than just merging amidst the flow. Time is squandered on procrastination, Carelessly discarding instances undone. When it comes to straightforward relations, There is still plenty of time for leisurely spun. A cosmic present, the current moment, It's something to appreciate and embrace. Opportunity prevails, yet they are opponents, Regardless of the challenges that lie in place.
This is a great reminder to make use of the time at hand. We often squander our time procrastinating. As we can't see what may occur tomorrow, make use of every opportunity that knocks at our door. This thought, we all have, but most of us do not know how to express it effectively as you do. Congratulations on your top placement.
Very thoughtful and inspiring. I'm still dealing with procrastination. It is really a bad habit that needs some lashes. "When you reckon wisely, goodness will arise, Negative ideas tend to exacerbate woe." And the negatives take effect so quickly. That's why I try to remain positive. I try. Great one Sotto.
Sure, carpe diem, but be mindful where you are, who is around you and, ask yourself why are you there. I am far too cautious to carpe diem I cannot be frivolous or merely take a chance that I could be a negative move or cause my loved ones to be involved. I am not a gambler, and as you so rightly say. 'Opportunity prevails, yet there are opponents, regardless of the challenges that lie in place' Astounding poem my friend, I simply love this write! Blessings, Jennifer
SP, I like the way you describe our interaction with time and opportunity. Yes, we should not fear a challenge, and we can also enjoy the moment. I also like how you have included procrastination as squandering. This is something to read carefully, enjoy, and apply.
Hi Lasaad! Time is indeed a "cosmic" present - a gift to be opened each minute, a gift never to be lived again. Your interpretation of this theme is beautifully articulated with the artistry of a poetic artist. "Time is squandered on procrastination!" Beautifully stated. Best wishes for the contest, my friend. Blessings for each of yuour moments!
I suppose it is only natural to think of tomorrow especially if today is a turbulent one. Trying to solve our today can prove useless. Great poem though.
Dear dr sotto; what an important and much needed reminder youv delivered through your word weaving, so eloquently presented. Sometimes in the midst of chaos we forget to live in the momenr: mindfulness and appreciating time without stressing over future is important and necessary to keep our focus on whats around and to be grateful for little things! Brilliant philosophical as well as very moving write! I love the rhymes and flow of this and your quote is powerful too! Best wishes.Youv nailed it
