mosaic memoirs

and we are,
       but dusk-kissed poems,
many moons apart,
      sequined in stygian sorrow ~
while ultraviolet veins
compose an electrified elegy,
                    for unrequited stars
   struck by
                 the scorpion's rays~
 sleeping behind the
                  midnight mists
as galaxies of butterflies spiral
   through the sky
untouched by the hiss
            of snake songs...

I long to place my thoughts
on the crystalline cradle
          of the empyrean
listening to your heartbeat
          still aching
for the return
              of whirling wildflowers
    thirsty for a fountain of
 mosaic memoirs ~
    a quenching elixir
             brewed from hope
for I am a winged rose
     day-dreaming in
        my meadow of magnolias
  weaving periwinkle crowns
               with paper petals ...

yet I ponder
am I the one you think
         about
  when evening jewels soar
     curating a choir of peace
as the sun softly
    caresses velvety ripples
painting the sea in shades of love...
    or am I just
                 a forgotten myth
          lost in the
 alliterative archives
                of empty words.....

IE, hey...let's hope you are the one! However, attraction is such a strange phenomenon. It's something very hard to understand. In the end and once we get going with a partnership, it just depends on what we do with it. We don't really ever get perfection in all of this...hopefully what we get makes us feel OK or wonderful even. We have so little control over another person...we must choose wisely! Smiles!!

"Ultra violet veins compose an electrified elegy..." I wonder, do words give meaning to life, or does life give meaning to words...I say you give meaning to both life and words Poetess...J.A.B.

Dear Empress, I loved how your opening lines, "and we are, but dusk-kissed poems, many moons apart, sequined in stygian sorrow," immediately set a tone of bittersweet separation and longing. As I continued to read, I discover the juxtaposition of "dusk-kissed" and "stygian sorrow" expresses a wonderful picture of beauty tinged with darkness. Yes, the real question is whether you're the one thought about "when evening jewels soar curating a choir of peace" is heart-wrenching in its vulnerability. Wow, then there is the uncertainty expressed in the closing lines, pondering if you're "just a forgotten myth lost in the alliterative archives of empty words," is a powerful reflection on the fear of being forgotten or misunderstood. How could I not comment on such great lines of Faving!! Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

"I am a winged rose day-dreaming in my meadow of magnolias weaving periwinkle crowns with paper petals ..." This is your dream and hope. Sweet Empress, how I wish your dreams come true. But we keep wondering what's our place in the heart and mind of one who we love dearly. We are constantly plagued between hopes and doubts. This state of mental oscillation is so powerfully presented in lines- "or am I just a forgotten myth lost in the alliterative archives of empty words....." Here I sense a tone of deep melancholy. Beautiful poem with stunning metaphors!

Dearest Ink, Your outstanding verse is about longing, unrequited love, and the search for connection among emotions of solitude and existential inquiry. You reflect on your emotional condition and the nature of your relationship with someone you care greatly about, wondering if you are remembered or valued by that person. Nature, heavenly bodies, and transitory beauty are metaphors for the speaker's emotional depth. Your word choice is rich and vivid, with a mix of sensory and abstract vocabulary. Terms like "dusk-kissed," "stygian grief," and "ultraviolet veins" conjure a striking vision that engages the senses. Metaphor ("winged rose," "a crystalline cradle"), alliteration ("galaxies of butterflies"), and personification ("the sun lovingly caresses velvety waves") all contribute to the poem's emotional impact. I send you my best wishes and plenty of light.

I love how you ended with the wondering of what you are to this person . . . Or empty words. Your metaphors were so lovely. As always, Ink

Oh, this is absolutely breathtaking! Mosaic Memoirs reads like a celestial dream woven in poetry, where every line glows with a haunting beauty. Your use of imagery is mesmerizing--“sequined in stygian sorrow” and “ultraviolet veins compose an electrified elegy” feel like pure magic, blending darkness with an ethereal light. The juxtaposition of cosmic elements with fragile, earthly beauty creates an aching sense of longing and unattainability.

- We always paint our words, as butterflies in swirling wildflowers - nobody knows who we are ... we create our own image :) - A beautiful and interesting poem, Ink :) - hugs
