Morning’s Muse

It’s 5am here and 2am there I’m up with the blue birds Pulling the word worms from my mind Wiggling out seeking the soil We all want to be planted in We all desire to be made whole Golden sun slowly rises on horizon And I find it inviting If I could swallow it Would I be enlightened Would I no longer seek human vices Musings of a early morning mom Peeling back thoughts like Covers sheets on a queen’s bed Always hoping to be better than I am Always growing despite feeling damned Why fight against emotions they are like a sail Can take you only so far if you are brave enough to care A bird bathes my ears in his yellow song Welcoming and charming tweets so strong This bird’s heart is sure of his plight Despite dark hearts his song is of light So nature has lessons I need to learn Like fire is hot touch it not or burn Trust in God for His ways are not our own Like the little bird does as he creates nurtures home

I like your poem, particularly the little singing bird. We learn from nature and work to improve. I liked these thoughts.

Such a beautiful and inspiring poem dear Karen. Love your early morning musings. ‘ We all desire to be made whole’. How true! I love the line,’ A bird bathes my ears in his yellow song’ and the last line especially. We truly can learn so much from God’s beautiful, nature world. Really enjoyed this delightful read from you. Thank you for sharing. Hugs and blessings xx

outstanding descriptive lines & imagery. I agree...we all desire to be whole. I enjoyed how you used nature metaphorically for nature trusts in God. Loved it. Enjoy your evening, Sara

This poem is a poignant exploration of the quiet moments before dawn, where the mind is alive with introspection and the soul yearns for connection. The metaphor of 'word worms' being pulled from the mind, and the desire to be 'planted in' the soil of belonging and wholeness, evoke a sense of searching and growth.
