Morning's Light
Just before the day break
Whispers morning, from nights weary breathe
From somewhere in the eastern sky
A haze of twilight settles in
Like an epiphany
When we realize the night is through
And today becomes yesterday
And tomorrow surrenders blue
I share this bluish sentiment
Not that i dread the lapse
As sunlight chases moonlight
I only wanted it to last
This mornings dew drops heavy, no one noticed,
To wetten socks and feet
And reminds us that the day has come
And beckons us to sleep
So, we will sleep
Indifferent about the pass
And we dream of each other
And new days that happen fast
And when we're old, we'll look back
And think about these times
When we stayed up until the morning
Comforted by night
