More of the Same
Replicated news diet,
it don't ever change
Every day they feed us
more and more of the same
Smirking politicians
with greedy, covetous eyes
Make us more empty promises,
using the same old fake lies
Wall Street suit hustlers
selling the stolen American dream,
want more people to naively invest
in the same failed pyramid scheme
Experts and authorities
with fancy titles next to their name,
use recycled sound bytes ...
suggesting only more of the same
Prosperity peddling preachers
say for twenty bucks they can heal your poverty pain
But I've sniffed that snake oil incense before,
and it smells like more of the same
Entrepreneurial cult spirits
marketing pagan electronic games
Have converts in idol-making factories,
mass producing more of the same
As the sun rises each day,
and the four seasons change
I'm sure the next generation
will see even more of the same
