More Like You Than I Thought

More Like You Than I Thought

I'm more like you than I thought
I learned more than you had taught

I thought I was different, unlike you
You were the false, I was the true

My life would fly, not on the ground
You were the lost one, I was the found

I found another path I wanted to take
Didn't want to make your same mistakes

I knew it all, least more than you
I didn't want to do what you did too

Years and life have run along
Singing tunes to the same old song

What I think now, what I thought then
Like you, depends on where I've been

I ran through time, like wine in a glass
Moving so slowly, traveling so fast

Things about you, I disliked the most
Are now present in this temporal host

You're good, bad, indifferent too
Appears within for all to view

I realize this now, I know I'am caught
I'm more like you than I ever thought
