More Grandiose Than Poetry

What be more grandiose than poetry, expound at your own discretion, bottle sunshine, save it in a jar, tie an affectionate knot, spread it 'round flood desert mirages with flowing spirits, speaks kindly and murderously about love, can tempt winds to uncoil temptation's gist thrust upon or written asunder desperation relentless in its seizing of human behavior, magnifying moonbeams or star's decimation perfumed magnolias 'neath winter's cruelty, call of the wild midst sweetness of fresh rhubarb pie, infinitely vast in its incalculable grasp of predication, beyond limitless infrastructures' fancied significance

Been hovering over this one for some time , contemplating the full range of options "poetry" presents. From manna to excrement the creative puts self first, waits to see how the non-self reacts. Doesn't matter, the last best flush equalizes all, least ways that's my projection. Pretty grandiose thinking, eh? I'm thrilled to consume flowery and mind boggling even while I contribute compost. Regardless of the flufflations discussed, the matter is subjective. Good stuffs! MORE, MORE!

I have been told numerous times my poetry is 'too flowery' but that's my style, I can't seem to write any other way. The heart of the poem is purely poetry. Thanks for taking the time Ian.

You have grandiose words sat within grandiose lines, yet I feel the heart of the poem is missing , It's a read that engages the reader to marvel at the metaphores, ...and not fully engage with the poem itself.......well done ...Ian

I like the contrasts you use here..."kindly and murderously about love", "flood desert mirages", "perfumed magnolias to winter's cruelty". I attempt this where I can in my poetry...but you did it quite well here with such grace...good job today! MC

Poetry is the elixir that intoxicates the soul as I feel quite tipsy now after reading this wonderfully descriptive work of art. Not the biggest fan of rhubarb pie, but with enough whipped cream on top, I'll eat just about anything. :) This is stunning Paloma, a real treat for the eyes and the mind. Poetry is exactly that (see above)
