More

Sometimes life brings us showers,
But showers bring us flowers 
And flowers bring me joy.
Singing and dancing in the rain bring me joy.
But you bring me more.

More than Beethoven, Brahms and Mozart,
More than the red robin and the swing in the park,
More than skating on the frozen lake floor,
You bring me more. 

More than paintings by Van Gogh,
More than seeing the sparkling white snow,
More than gazing at the moon out my door,
Yes, you bring me more.

More laughter and smiles
Across a thousand miles.
More magical feelings and fun,
And in my heart lives the warmth of the sun
Because you bring me more.

A comparative phrasing that illuminates your love for the object of your affection. The weaving of the tapestry of culture ... nature ... and innervisions expressed makes this a gem of a poem. CayCay Godwin February 19, 2018 at 10:17 PM I think this write is as sweet, lighthearted and lyrical as sunshine is warm. It is a skip thru the highs of love, the joys and sparks of love and could be aimed at anyone who is loved from a grandparent to a spouse. I enjoyed it very much, I felt like I was frolicking thru the greenest of soft, green grass. A joy to read, Carole - r u thinking of doing 'more'/something specific with it? Poetry hugs ... Your build out and expressions starting from the fifth verse (first stanza): "But you bring me more," for me, are both exquisite and enchanting with the combination and integration of words, tone, and imagery that you use.
