Notes About The Poem

        sitting here

        looking up at you

        looking down on us

        watching

        you reflect

        that we may see

        how blessed we are…

        without conscience

        we’ve littered

        your front yard

        with non-degradable

        and unrecyclable

        technological junk…

        yet you continue

        to smile on us—

        cycle after cycle

        in the fullness

        of your celestial glow

        of peace and love

        that has yet

        to be reflected

        here on earth…

        with such

        a beautiful glowing

        queen as you

        the sun

        cannot help

        but to shine brightly

        that we may enjoy

        the mysterious beauty

        you give the night…

Moonstruck

sitting here
		looking up at you
		looking down on us
		watching
		you reflect
		that we may see
		how blessed we are…

		without conscience
		we’ve littered
		your front yard
		with non-degradable
		and unrecyclable
		technological junk…

		yet you continue
		to smile on us—
		cycle after cycle
		in the fullness
		of your celestial glow
		of peace and love
		that has yet
		to be reflected
		here on earth…

		with such
		a beautiful glowing
		queen as you
		the sun
		cannot help
		but to shine brightly
		that we may enjoy
		the mysterious beauty
		you give the night…
