MOONLIGHT SHEETS

after watching
circus clowns
downtown

his light jacket - covered goosebumps
her clogs - they shoveled snow

they settled in each other’s arms
between a mélange of moonlight sheets

amoretto’s bow
scores
poetic words

a neophyte-entry
subconscious-scrawl

he kisses her snowflake-lashes
so warm and cold

she sips her steamy cup of joe
reminiscing

her pen pierces twilight
an arrow remains on the target

with lingering expertise
