Moonless Piano

a bluesy lament
permeates the air
intoxicates
making its way
straight through my heart
as the piano keys of my soul
play a long breathless
resonating
unbearable
silence

Wow. I like that. The notion of 'the piano of one's soul'. And the it being quiet. 'The silent silence'. Thank you. Maybe this poem also triggered something in me. My mother had played the piano as a child and we had one in our lounge. She never played. And I now know that her inner and broken silence was silent and yet raging inside.
