Moongoddess
The moon,
she shines brightly tonight
and in her luminescence
I spy a sultry silhouette
approaching me.
The wind
kisses her cheek,
teasing her hair
making it seem alive,
dancing in the moonlight.
The scent
of gardenia and musk
tantalizes my nostrils
drawing me
by my lustful intentions
to stare
to the point of gawking.
This goddess
of the night
demands my attention
with her mere presence,
and as she
steps out of a night shadow
her full beauty
confronts me,
laying my endarkened heart open
causing it to beat.
I don’t know
what I’ve done
to deserve seeing her
but I hope I keep doing it,
and as she looks upon me
it’s almost as if
I can feel her claws
running over my body
causing me to shiver.
She is close enough now
that I can see the moon
reflected in her dark eyes
and it feels
like I haven’t moved in years
for I fear if I do
she may dissolve
like a mirage,
and my fears become reality,
for as she draws within reach
she dissipates
in the headlights of a passing car.
