I hadn't known what a gadfly was, until O read Gary's line below :) My great grandpa came from England, so I guess I only ever heard of them in our family as horseflies :) Your poem is so cute, making me remember my hubby's Shetland pony that he has forever shared stories about :)

It's been a while since I read a Linda Alice Fowler piece so here I am - and I'm glad I made the effort. You capture the scene so well. I'm thinking a gadfly is what we Brits call a horsefly - pesky things. I like the references to moons in your work Linda - it brings to your words an air of spirituality and respect for Mother Nature's seasons. Cheers- Gary

Yes Gary, gadflies are pesky little things. Our Mother Nature provides so many gifts! Fascinating, actually. I never tire of Her marvels. I am so pleased to have you visit and leave such encouraging and supportive comments. :)

Thank you Paula. So many different names for each full moon. I enjoy writing about them. :)
