Monomania

At sixty-six, he fell on his head -
his learning, gone! He lives, instead,
for what?

His brain? Give it a goodbye kiss.
These days, he says only this -
"chocolate".

Hi Ink Empress. I also have that inclination. There must be some pretty special chemical in that stuff - plus it tastes good!

This resonates so with me. Had a good friend who lost it after a fall at age 74. My age now. So I'm extra mindful all of the time, I hope and pray... All that said, I laughed like a hyena when I first read this. What kind of human being am I, anyway?... Good one, David. ~ Vanilla

Haha, thanks Vanilla, and what kind of human being am I to write it? I like to think we all need a laugh sometime.
