Momma

There's so much left unsaid
questions unanswered
and reasons to stay
But you were taken away
I keep thinking we'll all wake up
shake off this nightmare of a trip
and for a split second, a moment, I forget
and each morning after restless nights it sinks in
all over again
Life will never be the same
It's like an empty void
a black abyss that lingers
all light has been retracted
and the cortisol attacks my heart
Maybe one day it will all make sense
maybe one day I'll be able to breath
