Moments

© Ben Burton 7/3/2016 It's such a tender moment when a father holds his infant As his face exudes both wonderment and joy For in his wildest fantasies he could not really "get it" How his love's the same for little girl or boy It's such a trying moment when a mom drops off her toddler At a day care while she takes care of some chores And as she walks away she hears, "Oh no, don't leave, me Mommy!" And her heart breaks for she knows she must ignore It's such a special moment when the family's together A reunion that's four generations deep And the chatter during dinner has an echo of forever Though the members will have changed next time they meet
