MOM

A empty page awaits the perfect words I hope will convey what I feel when looking back at the lifetime we shared. But I am at a loss for words, for none hold the weight that my heart holds today, now out of sync with the world I once knew, missing beat after beat without you. August 22nd 1929 – May 23rd, 2025

Great to read you back at the Soup Elaine. It’s just a pity that it’s under such sad circumstances. So sorry to hear about your loss. Your elegy is beautifully and masterfully written. Cheers - Gary

Lainey! Wow been so long. And such a sad poem. I lost mine 11/23 and dad 6/24. I've done a few tributes to dad, but haven't been inspired to do a mom poem yet. Wishing you peace

How nice to hear from you, Tom. I don't write on PoetrySoup as often these days. Too much going on in my life. My Mom would have turned 96 in August. Somehow, life goes on without them, but it will never be the same.
