Modern Day Heroes

I could write a poem about heroes, Heroes who fought the great war. About men who have died With their friends by their side, Never knowing what they were fighting for. I would rather write about heroes, Heroes we see everyday. It's the battle they fight From morning until night, From a virus that won't go away. So thank you, doctors and nurses, The ambulance men,and scientists combined. All of the people, Trying to find a world cure. For putting their lives on the line.

What a thoughtful, caring verse as a tribute to those men and women who are working so hard to help us defeat this dastardly virus! Thanks for sharing these thoughts, Simon.
