MIXED FEELINGS

idea#1 MIXED FEELINGS If I could now glimpse that future day When that realisation begins to dawn For all those expecting one more loss An unmoving stone, covered in moss Surrounding faces looking so forlorn Resisting a temptation to glance away Hear the whispers to know their mind With none desiring to speak out loud Only a few gathered around the bed And some have sent messages instead It’s premature for heads to be bowed All preferred a day of a different kind A balanced mix of the given and taken With love and friendship as inspiration All the unimportant things to be tossed But anxious no good memories are lost Still with echoes of that determination To have left the world a little shaken

the title was perfect for your poem, Howard. In those situations I've certainly had those mixed emotions. You told a great story through your rhymes and subtle imagery. Well done, sir. enjoy your day, Sara
