Oh dear. Quite the sort of thing that every young jock fears, yet has to master. Good to see you conquered it with style! :) laf

Oh man, what a bummer--fouling out, NOT your one-liner. Good one, Gershon! Janice

Heh, heh. Thanks, Janice. It was a bummer (1965) before the word 'bummer' had taken off. ~ Hobo Ken

Exactly, Judy!! We had been down by 18 points with 9 minutes left in the game as well. What a comeback. And then I, Mr. Big Mouth, blew it by fouling out. Ha, ha. We were down to five players, as we only dressed eight fellows that day. With only four players left on our side, the champs just sat back and ran out the clock. ~ Boo hoo, gw

The kicker, Tom -- we would have broken a 12-game losing streak with a win, and over the State Champs at that. I guess it was too good to be true... Smiles, Gershon

The awkward, unflattering ones seem to stay with us the longest, sadly - hope you had some fun in high school, too!

Well, I'm over it now --- for about 52 years now. lol. And I had fun in high school (mostly 'after hours.'). Hope you did too. :) gw

You know, at the time I was furious with myself. We would have beat the state champs for sure if I hadn't made the stupidest of stupid fouls... but now it's just a story where I can poke more fun at myself. Thanks, Anne-Lise. :)
