Missing You - It

Freddie followed me like my own shadow
It’s not been easy since he passed away
My family don’t know that I’m depressed 

I’ve concealed my alcohol addiction  
The label I hide on the wine bottle
I’m trying so much to go cold turkey
but find it hard to get quality sleep ...
Sabbatical dreams after quarantine -
They told me of the psycho cat’s demise.

When I go out for my daily walk the
Eerie boardwalk creaks near the white sand beach
I’m convinced that Freddie’s by my side as
feline footprints appear on the damp sand
