Missing the Point
Missing the Point
By Elton Camp
Cracker Barrel is where I like to eat
Their great breakfast just can’t be beat
And, to eat in there I will also try
Since their health rating is so high
The place has an established routine
To assure that everything stays clean
The waitstaff are courteous as can be
And not a soiled uniform do you see
The restroom gets regular attention
There is no fault that I can mention
I sign attached just above each sink
Causes all their employees to think
“Employees this duty must not shirk
Wash hands before returning to work.”
But a waiter was about to pass it by
To clean up his hands he didn’t try
Then he saw my disapproving stare
“About that sign I certainly have care.
I’m not going back to work, but to take
My own breakfast on my early break.”
