Missing Key
how did we get so close, where did this arise?
you got me changing ways, I'm feeling butterflies,
my head is turning around to thinking different thoughts,
what is this and why because it is not something i had sought,
attention is diverted and wandering to you,
I guess it comes out of nowhere when you least expect it to,
even when you locked your heart and thought you lost the key,
it comes up lost and found and the person holding it you meet,
questioning where they found it and if they will give it back,
you wonder if they will slip it in their pocket or underneath their hat,
the one that decides to keep it will answer all those questions,
and they were the reason for your past of learning all those lessons,
everything just works everything just clicks,
and when it's all thrown at the wall surprisingly it sticks,
not just a number not just a quick fix,
it's an everlasting feeling left tingling on your lips,
understanding comes naturally and the sparks ignite to flames,
and suddenly your world is different it is not the same,
repeating every word and whispering their name,
to remind yourself of the present moment and who your heart has claimed,
and then you reach into your pocket hoping to pull out and see,
the belonging of that other person.......and what you find is their missing key.
