Miss You Dad

How can I say goodbye Dad? I have been blessed to have known you since birth You were my sunshine on an overcast day.. I was the apple of your eye.. Your smile was contagious along with your laughter.. You had a heart of gold.. As your heart was filled with love, compassion, and kindness.. Through infancy and growing pains Through teen years and adulthood.. You have given me unconditional love and support.. The beauty of your optimism was an epidemic.. Everyone of us had been effected by your optimism.. I married had a wonderful son.. Your very first grandchild.. You had passed on your unconditional love to him.. You have given my son the gift of love.. Because of you Dad, my son had grown into an Outstanding young man.. The inspiration of my son.. You were.. Dad you were my shining star .. You illuminated my entire life.. I miss you Dad.. Dad how can I say goodbye.. For you have given me life.. I miss that twinkle in your loving eyes.. Dad how can I say goodbye.. You were gone within a blink of an eye.. So Dad I need not say goodbye.. Because you see.. Dad.. We shall reunite again someday.. Eternally.. This above free verse is dedicated to my best friend.. Her Dear Father had just recently passed away..

- Oh, heartbreaking beautiful to a dear father Robertina - (My dad lives but lives in a nursing home, I've been visiting him today - my mother died 7 years ago ... and I miss her every day) - hugs // Anne-Lise :)

Thank you so much for your lovely words, Sunshine. The tribute was for my best friend's father.. Sadly she just lost him recently. Sorry to hear you lost your mom 7 years ago.. It's so heartbreaking to lose a loved one.. My mother is alive, however she has Alzheimer's disease.. In a sense I lost her, since part of her is not really there. Breaks my heart to see her that way.. Blessings to you!

Robertina, this is a beautiful tribute to a wonderful soul; I know he was the best. I feel my pain of losing my dad in this poem too. Thank you for it, and know I am praying for you. Death is serious.

Thank you for your wonderful visit and feedback, Caren.. I dedicated this poem for my best friend. She just recently lost her Dad.. So heartbreaking for her.. Grief is very difficult to endure. I have been through it, with my sister.. I'm sorry about your Dad, Caren. As I will pray for you.. Blessings to you!
