Miss Distress

I’m Miss Distress… Lurking as Mr. Pressures’ enigmatic mistress Exposing your obvious reaction to any grievous stress Midst what you testify as your tenacious fortress. Oh, yes... this is Miss Distress inviting you to rest In my pleasurable mirth of leisure’s crest… Remember how you battled with my anguish-test? For sure, you’ve never forgotten your triumphant best. Anyway, Miss Distress* is here, unceasingly reminding Your faith fortitude's steadfastness God is upholding… Why not trust the Lord, His miracles beholding As in His will, your heart is settled; His delight finding. Thus, Miss Distress can only bid you good bye If and when you cast your cares to Christ with submission cry Seek Him in prayer; He's near though He reigns on high As with compassion He reaches to you, verily nigh.
*Psalm 118:5 I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. September 23, 2019 Edited on February 11, 2020 Honorable Mention, "STRAND SELECT L..." Poetry Contest Sponsored by Brian Strand; judged on 2/11/2020.
