Mischief

RICTAMETER COUPLET

Serene
sea soaks star shine,
fallen sky’s mischief hue
mocks the waves wrapped in moon’s blue.
They dance in deft marine cadence they make,
don on the crest silver smile as they break
on wayward sands of impish beach.
With pearls of joy they reach
my mind’s shore line
serene.

(NOTE : Rictameter is a 9 line unrhymed poetry form with successive syllable count of 2,4,6,8,10,8,6,4,2 where the first and the last lines are same. This form is modified here with the addition of a 10 syllable line at 6th place, increasing the total number of lines to 10. The new form is given the couplet rhyme (aa, bb, cc, …). I call this new form Rictameter Couplet.)
