Mirror Views
I’ve seen you look at me everyday
And I can see you have changed
I’ve seen you as a sprightly young kid
I seen suffer with those teenage zits.
I’ve seen you as a handsome young man
I’ve seen you applying your fake tan.
I’ve seen you pass your test
I’ve seen you dressed up in your Sunday best.
I’ve seen you as a middle-aged man
I’ve seen you bemoan the departure of your Nan.
I’ve seen you hold your first child
I have seen you thanking your daughter for your first grandchild.
I was there when you retired
I have seen you looking at me grey and tired.
I am a mirror and I have seen.
