Mirror on the Wall
They see a girl with attitude.
I see a girl with walls as high as a fortress — built to protect her losing sanity, or the innocence that was once brutally crumbled.
They see a girl with defenses.
I see a girl who flinches at loud sounds, at a single touch — who has darkness in her eyes and numbness in her body.
They see a girl so strong.
I see a girl barely holding it together, hoping for death, smiling through her pain.
They see a girl who's quiet.
I see a girl who stopped shouting — not because the pain vanished, but because the people did.
I see someone who stopped caring, who stopped offering opinions.
They see a girl so successful.
I see a girl who had to succeed — not for fame, but to survive, to prove she wasn’t a loser, to forget her demons.
I see a girl who smiles while crying inside — who cares for everyone, even when they left her alone.
I see myself in this girl.
Only to realize that I’m standing in front of a mirror —
Far more broken than her.
Or maybe…
Than me.
