Mirror Images of Oursleves

When I hear people play this game
It hurts me cause we're all the same
It doesn't matter who you are
The clothes you wear--or kind of car
Ranch or Beach House--- rich or poor
When you open your hearts door
Your eyes become a whole lot clearer
Seeing someone like a mirror
Who's image is identical
And you feel like a fool
For judging others when you should
Notice you have not been good
At fixing yourself and not be
Pointing out judgmentally
Other peoples awful traits
When you make the same mistakes
Everyone should look and see
Images of you and me
Are found all across the land
We all need to understand
There's no difference of any kind
If we look with hearts and minds

Very sweet and heartfelt. I get the whole "judge not lest ye be", but I believe in "Judge, and be prepared to be judged". I think it's just human nature to judge other people, whether or not we know them personally or intimately. It may not be the nicest or best of human traits, but there's no denying, I think, that being judgmental is almost natural in a way. There's good pre-judgment and bad pre-judgment, if that makes sense. Anyway, enjoyed this piece, Robin! :) <3
