Miriam Aged 12 and Her Grandmothers Voyage On the Titanic

Miriam: Oh Grandma Grandmother: Yes, dear what is it? Miriam: I am awfully excited to be traveling today. They say the Titanic is the largest passenger liner ever made. Apparently it’s 882 feet long, 92 feet wide and can carry 3327 crew and passengers. Grandmother: Yes dear now settle on your deck chair and read your book. Miriam: Oh Grandma will mummy be wanting at the dock in New York? Grandmother: Yes dear that is the plan. Miriam: Oh look Grandma seagulls are circling. How wonderful. Grandmother: Yes dear. Later that evening... Grandmother: Miriam Miriam wake up dear. Miriam: What is it I was having the most wonderful dream. I was talking to Mummy and she said everything was going to be alright. Grandmother: Now don’t worry darling but their seems to be something wrong with the ship. Miriam: People are getting on the life boats. People only get on the lifeboats if the ship is sinking. Are we sinking? Grandmother: The ship is in trouble and we are going to get on a lifeboat won’t that be jolly. Now hold my hand darling. Miriam: Is the ship sinking? Grandmother: Yes dear I think so. But we mustn’t fret. Miriam: Are we going to die? Grandmother: No dear we are rich we let other people do that for us.
