Miracles
God sends us miracles each day,
And we don’t often know it
It’s a miracle I can write a line
Or call myself a poet.
God has his eye and hand always
Upon the planet Earth.
There is no greater miracle
Than the miracle of birth.
Who guided Dad to meet my mom
And take her as his wife?
They were born many states apart.
Yet those two gave me life.
I’d like to say I’ve met Him
And have looked upon His scars.
But truly I need no more proof than
To have seen the moon and stars.
I had that perfect moment
I told you of before.
When I think an angel touched me
I’ve remembered it ever more.
Knowing an angel was watching over
The small child of long ago
Has comforted me through all these years.
One’s watching still I know.
