Easter bread is a real favorite and if done properly should taste miraculous:

A flat bread has nailed my demise Today's baking missed the top prize Yet Easter is great For certain this date Our mix has the spirit to rise

Thanks Yolanda, it was meant to be a tribute to the spirit of Easter and to add a little humor to what it's all about. I think we can find miracles in all sorts of things if we're open to it.

Darlene, glad you liked this. Was just in Montreal over the past few days and was fortunate enough to have a baguette with freshly made cheese. The bread they make in certain places is a miracle of taste!

You embrace the essence of Easter as a time for renewal and personal growth, even while the flatbread turns out less than flawless. Some of the lines used in this piece, including "nailed my demise," "missed the top prize," and "spirit to rise," are both humorous and whimsical, displaying your astute sense of humor. The total work is much more whimsical and lighthearted because of the rhyme. I wish you had a Happy Easter. A fave for me

What a beautiful picture to go with your brilliant limerick dear duke. Hows easter celebrations going for you? I find it fascinating and impressive how this idea of an easter egg came along and the activities involved for the children to enjoy and celebrate along with baking etc, is just beautiful to witness, it definitely is a very holy month, with so much going on in all the religions, celebrating love and faith in various ways, which i hope will turn around and make the world a better place. I really enjoyed reading this and smiled a little because i can never bake haha. Or cook. Anything i try to makr will turn out as a disaster. Hope you had a special easter meal. Sending you and your family light

IE, we sometimes make a big meal for the holidays and invite people over. This time, we just cooked for ourselves and it was really very pleasant. As you say, easter and other religious holidays at this time of year are hopeful. I like these holidays for that reason and because they hold a lesson for us....if we choose to accept it. BTW, thank-you for the light. I feel it when I read your poems and comments. Very perceptive and kind you are. Cooking just takes practice. We sometimes experiment and see what happens too.

Wonderful Duke… Your flat bread has taken a rise - Up high into the sky it flies - As we commemorate - The ascension with grace - Our daily bread is sure to arrive……… Beryl
