Mine: A Sonnet

In the early morning light of the day, While we watch each other with shining eyes, And your chestnut hair is in disarray, But I still want to tell you many lies. And at night, when we hold each other close, I pretend I hate you, but you still know. You're like a deadly drug, a fatal dose. Love you from your round ears to your toes. The way you sway and spin in that damn dress. You beautifully plot and never cry. The things I want to do with you, say yes. I want to be with you all of our lives. You say I’m too drunk, but it’s not the wine, All I want is for you to just be mine.
