Mindset of a Halfbreed

Being mixed with two different races Is like being bound in bold colored laces Easily spotted out Faces turn from smiles to pouts I can't help two people were in love Deciding to take the flight of beautiful doves And free themselves of the prejudices of this world In the early days of my ancestors in most cases Racial inequality had been the basis Of course their was no wedding No leaping cross the broom For if their had been Surely sorrow and weeping was in store for the bride and groom Learn your lessons from the past Somethings are never forgotten and will always last Copyright ©2006 Toya Denice Washington
