Mind Your Head

They’re culling the homeless this evening The police will all be there of course To make sure that things are done fairly Without too much violence or force Armed with their high powered rifles Loaded with high powered shells With orders to shoot anyone on their route Who is dirty unshaven or smells They’re searching down all the back alleys To find all the vagrants they can They’ll blow out their brains while they’re sleeping And load them all up in the van Take care when abroad on this evening And avoid any casual dress Going scruffily out means without any doubt Your head will end up in a mess

This may be satirical, John, but they're pretty much did just this last Christmas Eve in Tallahassee. Some homeless folks were homesteading harmlessly in a state forest and they were escorted off the property by armed guards. No doubt, they took shelter under an interstate overpass. Sickening, isn't it? Powerful write that hits a home run! Love, Carolyn
