Mind Wars
I had to turn the television off,
go into a quiet room
admit to myself
that I had played my part
in this collective consciousness,
this savage dream.
My wife comes home
I hear her making coffee
in the kitchen
but I am busy bombing and killing
and cannot be disturbed
by any other visions.
Few will understand these words
they will watch the news
not knowing we are all implicated.
We did this
we all dreamed this together.
