Midnight Worship

Through each passing night
I profess the songs of my spirit
Into the darkening sable skies
Ever higher and uninhibited

A complete release of each aspiration
Reverberating into faint perpetuity
Softly through the damp silken strands
Through the restive web spun of today

My pining hopes softly tumble
Petioles of desire’s violet blossom
Onto the sleeping eyes of reverie
In perfumed hopes my essence stirs

Here I beseech the untapped promise
In sweet mint blossoms of Black Birch trees
On the seashore I profess my passions
To the moon I rise and fall in the reverent waves
