Midnight
midnight rules
in the world of the living
thoughts, dreams, emotions
hidden in the dark
mind-exploding scenes of
horror, drama, love, and conquest
silly things, not important
I'd say no
they shape and meld
unconscious to consciousness
major leaps the brain does weave
dreams to thought to spoken word
I stretch, smile, and step aside
for they are of midnight and I of day
