Mid-October Scene
The meadow wears the ornate crown of tinted topaz dew,
as dainty dawn glistens with mid-October chalcedony glow.
Lining the sun-splashed scarlet garden pathway paved anew,
dry trunks of the sepia trees standing on the carpet yellow,
hear in the rustle of falling golden leaves winter’s footfall slow.
